# Wanderwalk > Wanderwalk is a walking audio-tour app for London. You walk; when you come within about 40 metres of a place with a story behind it, a short narrated story (roughly one to two minutes) plays in your ear, like a podcast that follows your feet. To the listener it is simply a beautifully made audio guide; it is "AI-first" only in how the content is researched and written. Built for locals first, the Londoners who already know the tourist basics and want the hidden, surprising history of their own city, and for curious visitors who want more than the cliches. Status: pre-release. Wanderwalk is launching soon on iOS and is not yet available to download. No launch date has been announced. ## What it does - Stories trigger as you walk, near the exact spot they happened. No reading, no staring at a screen. - When one story ends it offers the next one nearby and counts you in. - Lock-screen controls, 15-second skip, speed control, and full written transcripts. - An Apple Maps "Look Around" street view of each spot. - Once a story's audio is cached, it keeps playing through patchy signal. ## Two modes - Curated walks: 8 hand-built routes at launch. Examples: "Covent Garden to Holborn" (9 stops, about 49 minutes, 2.1 miles) and "The City: Money, Murder and the Riverside" (10 stops, about 44 minutes, 1.8 miles). - Free roam ("Stories near you"): no fixed route. It triggers any unheard story within range as you wander, ranked to your interests. ## Scale - 8 curated walks and more than 90 individual stories across London at launch, growing over time. London first, more cities later. ## Interest categories You pick the ones you like and the app leans into them as you walk: - Dark & Untold History - Buildings With Secrets - Food & Drink - Nature & the River - Stage, Screen & Sound - Power & Money - Churches, Cemeteries & Belief - Transport, Docks & Industry ## Pricing - Two curated walks are free forever: Covent Garden to Holborn, and The City: Money, Murder and the Riverside. - Wanderwalk+ unlocks everything: every story across London, all curated walks, and free roam fully. - Wanderwalk+ is £4.99/month or £29.99/year. The annual plan is the best value. - No weekly limit, no per-story charge, no day pass. ## The voice The stories are direct, spoken and source-backed. The opposite of "Big Ben is a famous clock tower." Example, the London Stone: a small, battered block of limestone behind glass in a wall on Cannon Street, already old in medieval times, struck with a sword by the rebel Jack Cade in 1450 as he declared himself lord of the city. ## Privacy - Precise location is used When-In-Use only, never always-on background, and mostly on your device to decide which story to play. - No selling of location, no advertising tracking, no advertising identifiers. - Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In for accounts. Subscriptions via RevenueCat through Apple. Anonymised crash and diagnostic telemetry via Sentry, behind a consent toggle. - UK GDPR and EU GDPR apply; users have access and deletion rights. Not directed at children under 13. ## Links - Home: https://wanderwalk.app - Privacy: https://wanderwalk.app/privacy - Terms: https://wanderwalk.app/terms - General contact: hello@wanderwalk.app - Privacy requests: privacy@wanderwalk.app
